Graphing survey results gives you a much clearer perspective on the information you're trying to gather. This is an example of a drinking survey that asks detailed questions that allows the surveyor to answer the question more accurately. For example asking "how many drinks can you consume?" is an open-ended question but doesn't give the researcher any important information that can be graphed, now if you ask "how many drinks do you consume in a typical week?" that is a question that can easily graphed.
